Overview & Reviews
The base trim level has been dropped. The 2.7-liter V6 is now standard (the LX still gets the 3.5-liter V6), as is an automatic transmission. Also newly standard this year are four-wheel antilock brakes and traction control. Exterior changes include a new grille surround, side cladding, taillamps, tailgate handle, rear bumper design and alloy wheels. Inside, there is new seat fabric, an upgraded two-tone color scheme and a revised instrument cluster. A power driver seat is now standard on the LX, and a compass is included with the optional sunroof.
- Reasonable price, strong warranty, roomy interior, long list of standard features, solid construction, good crash test scores.
- Thirsty at the pump for a small car-based SUV, soft suspension limits handling ability.

2005 Overview - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By B Thomma - May 30 - 11:56 pmCar has been reliable and meets my needs. The only problem has been the check engine has continually been going on. This has caused me to return to the dealer to have it corrected. The problem in every instance is in the gas cap overfill. The dealership has always fixed the problem and given a loaner car when needed. Another problem was with the radio. The AM reception was no good. This was their top of the line radio. They replaced it with a less expensive radio and the problem was corrected.

hyundai 2005 santa fe notes - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By dona goltz - April 15 - 1:56 pmDrives like a car and is very quiet. The only thing lacking was running board or step. The smaller engine performs very well and gets great mileage. Considering the warranty and all the extras, I strongly recommend this SUV as an excellent buy. I had custom running boards put on and they works fine.

"LOVE THIS CAR" - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By galyean - April 12 - 3:53 pmMy wife researched and sort out this car. Weve always bought Chrysler products (still do) but this is a car that has impressed both of us. It seems more like a Lexus to us with all of the accesories that are standard on this vehicle. We are impressed with this car.

Great Vehicle - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By GLS - March 26 - 6:20 pmGreat takeoff, lots of power. Excellent sound system. The standard features would be worth the price without the warranty; the smart safety features would cost hundreds extra on any other car. The Santa Fe comes with a first aid kit, storage area under the carpet of the cargo area and a cargo net to secure just about anything in the rear cargo area. I add the cargo mat (cost extra) and can transport anything without it shifting of rolling around during sharp turns. The front passenger seats air bag only turns on when someone sits in it. The comfort control system tells you the outside temp and can be set to auto, so that each time you drive it is the exact temperature you want.

Love my Santa Fe - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Charlie Mulcahy - January 17 - 7:26 amI got my Santa Fe just two days before having to make a road trip of over 300 miles and WOW what can I say, I was very comfortable the whole way. It got really decent gas mileage (about 26 mpg) and look out for the pick up when you hit the gas. Ive rented SUVs before and some are really big and bulky with less interior room than what I have in the Santa Fe. Two thumbs up to Hyundai

Great SUV Value - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By KYRHETT - January 12 - 9:26 pmSanta Fe has been a great vehicle to drive. Handles nicely, peppy 3.5L engine, great visibility, nice design and the 5 year, 60K miles warranty was a big incentive to buy. Now I will have a vehicle still under warranty when the payments aare finished.

Hyandi - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Susie - December 21 - 11:06 amThe leather heated seats were uncomfortable with a bar in the lower part of the seat to the back. Also the heated seats only heated the seat not the back.
